Retirement Clarity Assessment

Schedule a Complimentary Retirement Clarity Assessment

Review your retirement income, taxes, investments, Social Security, healthcare, and planning risks with a fee-only fiduciary advisor. The assessment is complimentary, takes about 60 minutes, and is virtual.

The Retirement Clarity Assessment is how we get to know your household, look at the real numbers, and tell you whether we think we can add enough value to justify a relationship. There is no obligation. We do not sell products at any point in the conversation.

Most people who book the assessment are inside the five-year window on either side of retirement, holding between $1M and $25M in investable assets, and trying to make a decision about whether to keep their current advisor, hire one for the first time, or coordinate a planning-only engagement.

The assessment is structured around the six dimensions of a retirement plan — income, taxes, investments, healthcare, estate, and risk — and we work through them in roughly that order. By the end of the hour, you should have a clear sense of where the highest-impact planning decisions live in your household, what the cost of not addressing them looks like, and whether an ongoing relationship with Compound Advisory is the right way to address them.

If the answer is yes, we send a planning agreement and onboard you onto an independent custodian. If the answer is no, we will say so and point you somewhere we think serves you better. The point of the conversation is clarity, not conversion.

What We Review

  • Retirement income and cash-flow readiness across a 30-year horizon
  • Roth conversion and multi-year tax-bracket planning opportunities
  • Portfolio risk, concentration, fees, and tax drag
  • Social Security timing, spousal coordination, and survivor benefits
  • Medicare premium (IRMAA) exposure across the next decade
  • Insurance, long-term care, and estate-document gaps

What to Bring

Ideally, recent statements for the accounts you would want a plan around — 401(k), IRA, taxable brokerage, HSA, and any pension or deferred compensation information. A recent tax return is helpful but not required. If you do not have everything in one place yet, that is fine; the first call is conversational and we can fill in details after.

It also helps to come with the questions you are actually trying to answer. Are you on track for the retirement you want? Should you keep the advisor you have? When should you take Social Security? Are you overpaying in taxes? Should you do Roth conversions? The more specific the question, the more useful the hour.

What the Assessment Is Not

The assessment is not a written financial plan. A written plan is a deliverable of an ongoing engagement, not a one-hour conversation. The assessment is a directional review — enough depth to surface the highest-impact opportunities and tell you whether an ongoing engagement is worth pursuing, not enough to replace the engagement itself.

It is also not a sales meeting. We do not sell insurance, annuities, structured products, or proprietary funds at any point. If the assessment surfaces an opportunity that requires a product solution, we will tell you and point you to an independent broker. Compound Advisory's revenue comes from ongoing fee-only planning relationships, and we will only earn that revenue if we genuinely think we can add value to your household.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is the Retirement Clarity Assessment really complimentary?

Yes. There is no fee for the initial assessment and no product sale at any point. Compound Advisory only earns revenue when a household engages the firm for ongoing planning and investment management.

How long does the assessment take?

About 60 minutes, virtual, via secure video meeting. We typically follow up with a written summary of the highest-impact opportunities we surfaced.

What happens after the assessment?

If we are a fit and you are ready to move forward, we send a planning agreement and onboard you to Altruist or Charles Schwab. If we are not the right fit, we will tell you and point you somewhere we think serves you better.
